How Do You Naturally Treat A Cat Cold?

Information pertaining to this subject seems to be elusive, even here on the net.  This is one reason why I feel the need to publish an article about the natural treatment for a cat cold/infection.  The information is elusive, but it does exist elsewhere on the internet.  Some of the other various websites which have articles pertaining to natural cat cold remedies suggest herbs like elderberry, and nutrients like vitamin C.  Due to the fact that both of these remedies have a strong flavor, it can be difficult to administer them to a cat.

Just to be clear, I am writing about an infection in a feline.  This would also be a good time to mention that I am not a veterinarian.

What Are The Symptoms of A Cat Cold?

Before we discuss any natural remedies, let’s discuss some of the symptoms to look for.
-         Excessive Sneezing – By this I mean all day long.  Not just once or twice.
-         Mucous discharge from the nose or mouth.
-         Breathing or Wheezing through the mouth.
-         Sleeping excessively (excessive, for a cat)
-         Lack of Appetite – Not eating
-         Fever – Warm to the touch.
-         Not Drinking
-         Lack of Interest
-         Lack of Energy

Your cat may not show all of these symptoms, or may show some symptoms that are not mentioned here.  If your cat is not treated, the cold will usually last from 7-10 days.  As I am sitting here, writing this article, our cat is getting over a cold which developed 2 ½ days ago (Friday night…I’m writing this on a Monday morning).

Colloidal Silver For A Cat Cold

After reading an informative article on another website, I began to treat him with colloidal silver.  Colloidal silver is highly effective at destroying bacteria and viruses, and does no harm to our own cells.  Needless to say, overdosing should be avoided so, we gave him 0.5ml on Saturday afternoon.  The dosage was repeated on Sunday morning, Sunday night, and Monday morning. As I mentioned, he is much better now.  He is now walking around and he began to eat a bit this morning.

How Do You Administer The Colloidal Silver To A Cat?

Most of you are probably wondering how to administer the colloidal silver to your cat.  Well, I use a product called Silver Shield which is a tasteless liquid.  I poured a bit of the colloidal silver into a small cup and used a marked eyedropper to extract 0.5ml of colloidal silver from the cup and administer it to the cat.  Even a tasteless liquid is not easily given to a cat, but it is so much easier than trying to give him a strong-tasting liquid or a pill.
