Signs and Symbolism: The Crow
I rarely write about this sort of
topic, but I felt the need to after recent experiences and searching the
internet for answers.
Lately, I have seen many crows,
usually along the roadside or in someone’s yard. Most people seem to think of the crow as a sign
of death in some way. I always view the
crow as a symbol of change, and transformation.
Well, in order for something to change, a part of it has to die so I can
see how death fits into the symbolism of this bird.
To experience a new beginning,
something must fall away, something must end.
Rather than focusing on the end, or the death of something, whenever I
saw the crow, I would always focus on the new beginning. I would always wonder what will change, and I
always expected a change for the better.
A friend of mine who is
knowledgeable of the subject of animal signs and the symbolism of different
animals, tells me that the crow represents law, and legality.
She (my friend) told me that an
acquaintance of hers, who is a lawyer, often saw many (I hate to say a `murder`
of crows) crows in the parking lot outside her office and never in the other
nearby parking lots.
My friend’s mother saw many crows
on her farm just before a trial in which she was involved, and never saw them
after the trial ended.
Anyway, there is a small patch of
woods behind my house and, most recently, I saw around 70 crows perched in the
treetops. At the time of this writing,
and the sighting, it is late Fall and there are only a few brown, dried leaves
on the trees so I was able to see them all…although I lost count after 40.
There are a few situations in my
life right now that I have been focusing on very intensely and I was asking for
some type of sign.
I had been using the law of attraction and, after having read
something about the crow representing sacred law, I put it all together.
The crows served as the sign that I
requested…follow sacred/universal law and trust in the law of attraction. On one of
these issues which I wrote about in an article on choices and making difficult
choices, I was beginning to worry.
Worry is actually fear of getting what you don’t want. When you begin to worry, it means you’re
thinking about what you don’t want.
The crows, to me, represented the
need to follow and trust in the law.
Obviously, I wasn’t doing that because I was beginning to worry.
They also represented the change in
the situation…something was ending in order for something new to begin.
So, follow the sacred laws,
always. And trust…see the wisdom in
every situation. There is a way to turn
things to your advantage and benefit from every obstacle placed before you. It all depends upon your perspective, how you
choose to view your life.
