Toxic Health Effects of Fluoride
Pure
water is one of the most important substances for the
health of the human body; the body cannot survive for more than a few
days
without water. Many
conditions like
dizziness, palpitations, light headedness, headache, and blurred vision
can be
caused by an insufficient intake of water. Pure water can be a
lifesaver and
actually flushes toxins from the body.
The
addition of toxins like
fluoride can turn this healthful beverage into a poison. Some say it is best to go
thirst than drink
fluoridated tap water. Fluoride,
which
is an ingredient in many pesticides is more poisonous than lead. In fact, over fluoridation
of water is one of
the sources of acute fluoride poisonings.
So, what are the toxic effects of fluoride on the
human body?
Fluoride
is supposedly added to drinking water for its
beneficial dental effects however, excess exposure to fluoride in early
childhood
can cause discoloration of the teeth and a defect in tooth enamel known
as
dental fluorosis, The
CDC estimates that
as many as 32% of American children have some form of dental fluorosis. The pineal gland is a
major site of fluoride
accumulation which can reduce the glands ability to synthesize
melatonin. Melatonin
regulates many functions within the
body including sleep and puberty.
Early
onset of puberty is now being linked to fluoride damage to the pineal
gland. The thyroid
is another gland that
is also affected by fluoride. Even
doses
as low as 2mg per day were found effective at reducing thyroid
function, and
fluoride was once used in Europe
to reduce
thyroid function in hyperthyroid patients for this very reason.
Unfortunately,
it gets worse. Cases
of bone cancer in
young boys were between two and seven times higher in areas in which
the
municipal water supply was fluoridated.
The association between fluoridated water and bone
cancer was proven by
the Environmental Protection Agency.
Over
time, fluoride accumulates in the bones and causes deformities in the
structure
and strength of the bone. Long-term exposure can also lead to skeletal
fluorosis,. Symptoms
of skeletal fluorosis include:
- Bone & joint pain
-
Burning/tingling in limbs
-
Chronic fatigue
-
Reduced appetite
-
Backache
-
Osteoarthritis
-
Muscle weakness
-
Gastrointestinal disorders

A
toxicologist in the UK
found the areas in which the municipal water supply was fluoridated
experienced
15% more prenatal deaths than in non-fluoridated towns.
It was also found that these fluoridated areas
also experience 30% more cases of Down’s syndrome than their
fluoride-free
neighbors. World-renowned
researcher,
Dr. Albert Schatz found a link between fluoride and infant death. Because of this research,
fluoride was banned
in Chile.
Dr. Phyllis
Mullenix, former director of toxicology at Forsyth
Dental
Center
in Boston
proved that fluoride accumulates in, and damages the brains of animals
when
exposed to moderate levels. Symptoms
similar to Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) were seen in the offspring
of
animals exposed to low levels of fluoride during pregnancy and the
opposite
effect, sluggishness/fatigue/hypoactivity, was seen in adult animals
who
received low levels of fluoride. This
may explain why so many children are now diagnosed with ADD yet, the
majority
of adults are diagnosed with chronic fatigue.
This
research on fluoride’s toxic
effects on the Central Nervous System was confirmed previously
classified
government research. These
documents
state that: “Clinical evidence suggests that uranium
hexafluoride may have a
rather marked central nervous system effect…It seems most
likely that the F
component [fluoride] rather than the T [uranium] is the causative
factor.” Chinese
research supports the research of
Mullenix by showing a correlation between low IQ scores in children and
exposure to low levels of fluoride.
