Spiritual and Healing Properties of Lapis Lazuli:

Formed when limestone fuses with calcite and pyrite, lapis lazuli is a rock rather than a single mineral.  This fusion between calcite, limestone and pyrite create a deep blue mineral known as lazurite.  Lazurite is the actual mineral while lapis lazuli consists of compact lazurite crystals layered with white dolomite and calcite and speckled with grains of Pyrite.  In ancient Egyptian times, lapis lazuli was worn by the high priests to invoke the power of Maat, the goddess of truth and balance.  The Romans also wore lapis lazuli for courage and protection.  This stone is a deep balancer and is used to oper and clear the brow chakra of deeply rooted stress and trauma.  Meditating with this stone brings the spiritual qualities of deep silence and true perspective which facilitates profound intuition and inspiration.  During meditation, lapis lazuli will help to access universal truth and balance.
