Balance the Root Chakra with Color
Although the primary color of the root chakra is red, sometimes the root chakra may require other colors for
balance and healing.
Focus on the root chakra and clear it with any color that comes
to mind. Whatever color you see in your mind's eye, visualize
that color flowing into the root chakra.
Balance the Root Chakra with Sound
Choose a comfortable spot where you
will be undisturbed for ten to fifteen minutes.
You can play some classical music, relaxing nature sounds, or special
brainwave audio tracks to help you relax.
A great sound to listen to while meditating to balance the root chakra
energies is Tibetan Bowls. The sound of the C note resonates with the energy of
the root chakra and is used to balance and heal the root chakra.

Focus your attention on the root
chakra and really feel the energy flowing into the root chakra.
Visualize the first color that comes to mind,
whatever it may be.
The root chakra most
likely requires this color to maintain balance and to heal.
Visualize this color as light flowing into
the root chakra.
Every color has a
different vibration, and the root chakra may require certain frequencies to
balance itself.
Root Chakra Personality
It
is important to recognize the personality associated with an excess or
a deficiency of root chakra energy. This information can later be
used therapeutically in meditation sessions. Usually the darker
crystals like hematite, smokey quartz, and obsidian, and also black
tourmaline are used to quiet and subdue the energies of an overactive
root chakra. The brighter, redder crystals like garnet, ruby, and
bloodstone are more energizing to an under-active root chakra.
Certain fragrances are also either energizing or subdueing.
The
over-active root chakra personality is one of rigidity and skepticism.
These people are just too grounded and too focused on the
physical word to open their mind to spiritual experiences and energetic
dimensions. Narrow-minded atheists usually live in the physical
world and have no concept of a world beyond our own, or a spirit body
that lives past the death of the physical body. Victims of this
over active chakra are usually obsessed with money and finances, like
Scrooge, and they live entirely in their head, they rarely express
emotion and everything about them is itellectual.
In contrast,
those with an underactive root chakra are spacey and detatched from the
physical world and their physical body. They may be too spiritual
or too emotional. These are the people who are obsessed with
love, which is their answer to everything. Chronic daydreamers
fall into this category, their mind is always in a make-believe world
and never focusing on matters of the physical. These people are
always speaking of faeries and earth spirits and don't care much about
worldy things like money, saying things like "Money can't buy love" or
"I'm too spiritual to need money".
